ABOUT THIS EVENT

So you finally have a draft of your manuscript. What next?

To give your manuscript the greatest chance of success, you need to develop it to the highest possible standard. This workshop is designed to equip writers who have finished at least one full draft of their manuscript with the practical and psychological skills required to navigate the long and windy path to reach their writing goals. The development phase can be challenging and frustrating; it is likely to take longer than you thought, but it is also incredibly rewarding. If you are committed to becoming a writer, you can't avoid it.

Learning Outcomes

This workshop will cover the following points:

  • Creating a healthy separation between yourself and your work

  • Receiving feedback

  • Beta readers

  • What to expect from a manuscript assessment

  • How to find the right assessor/editor

  • Approaching the next draft

  • Recharging your batteries to go the distance
